A bit premature

First Entry. Perhaps a bit premature. What I propose to write in this blog is my experience in the newly revitalized neighborhood of downtown Jersey City. Thing is I don't plan on moving there for another six months. But having this already posted we can trace my apartment search and all that goes into it.

So far I've made a handful of trips out there: sometimes for bars, sometimes just to look at architecture. But the old brownstone neighborhood is exactly what I'm looking for, and the location can't be beat.

The reason the location appeals to me so much is that it fits in in my master plan: I will write the dissertation for this Ph.D. in Statistics at Rutgers by converting the work I do at the Hedge Fund into actual research. The Fund is located in midtown, Rutgers is out in New Brunswick, and my advisor is in Hoboken. This is the exact center of all of them, it's a decent place to live, and it's affordable. I want to be a part of this resurgence; it could be something to be proud of.

Imagine that, someday saying "I lived in Jersey City in 2007" and being proud of it.
